According to a report in The Mirror the current
Premier League leaders are ready to launch a bid at
the end of the season to create a strike force of
Sanchez and Diego Costa.
News of Chelsea’s interest will add to Arsenal’s
concerns over the striker’s future in a week in
which it was claimed that he was phoned by Pep
Guardiola and has a £400,000/week offer on the
table from China.
Sanchez has 18 months left on his current deal with
no signs of progress from talks about a new
contract.
Arsenal are believed to be very reluctant to go
beyond £200,000/week while the Sanchez camp
are looking for closer to £300,000/week to earn
parity with the biggest earners at Manchester
United and Manchester City.
The dilemma for Arsenal is whether they make an
exception for Sanchez, and probably Mesut Ozil, or
stand their ground, lose a proven striker then try to
find a replacement within the current wage
structur
